Just when I thought I'd explored every corner of the French Riviera...
You guys know how much I love discovering those off-the-beaten-path spots that make your jaw drop the second you arrive. Well, after three days of exploring the rugged coastline between Marseille and Cassis, I stumbled upon this absolute masterpiece of nature tucked away in the Calanques.
Getting to this slice of heaven wasn't exactly a casual afternoon stroll. After catching an early morning train from Nice to Marseille, I grabbed my hiking boots and spent the better part of the morning trekking through the famous Calanques National Park.

The water here is unlike anything I've experienced before. We're talking that signature Mediterranean turquoise that literally sparkles in the Provençal sunlight. I must have taken about 200 photos, but honestly, no camera can capture the magic of this hidden calanque.

Here's what blew my mind about this secret corner of Provence:
Best Time to Go: Early morning (7-9 AM) or late afternoon (4-6 PM) for the most magical lighting and to avoid the midday Provençal heat.
What to Bring:
Getting There: I'll be honest, I'm keeping the exact calanque a little mysterious to protect this pristine spot. But if you're serious about finding it, slide into my DMs and I might share some hints! 😉
What made this experience even more special was meeting Pierre, a local fisherman who's been exploring these waters for over 30 years. He shared some incredible stories about the area's maritime history and even showed me where the old smugglers used to hide their boats.
"Travel isn't just about the places you see - it's about the people you meet and the stories they share."
Sometimes the best adventures happen when you venture beyond the typical French Riviera hotspots. This spontaneous detour from my planned itinerary turned into one of my favorite travel memories of the year. There's something magical about finding a place that feels like your own private slice of the Mediterranean.
